The Fantastic Flying Journey (Gerald Durrell, 2018)

This is an amazing, fascinating and very informative story about an unusual adventure across the globe in a balloon house. One day, the twins Conrad and Ivan, along with their older sister Emma, saw a huge balloon land near their house.

It turned out that it was their great-uncle Lancelot who flew to them in such an original way. He told the children about his brother Percival, who went to the African jungle to study the habits of gorillas and elephants. There was no news from Percival for two years, so Lancelot decided to go with the children to find him.
Lancelot built a whole house for their journey and attached it to a balloon. In this flying house, they will fly around the world and make landings in various parts of it: from South Africa and Brazil to the North Pole and Canada.

Travelers will experience exciting adventures and meet all kinds of animals. In order to better understand the language of animals and birds, Lancelot invented a magic powder with which children will be able to talk with the amazing inhabitants of our planet: crocodiles, koalas, beavers, penguins, whales, swallows, giant butterflies and so on.
