World of Tanks: the game that won the hearts of millions

Today it is difficult to find someone who has not heard of the computer game World of Tanks, popularly known as simply Tanks. This creation from Belarusian developers was released in 2010, and since then, the game has been pleasing fans of virtual tank battles with its exciting battles for more than 12 years.

At first, the developers did not have high hopes for it since. Usually, all hits belong to Western developers. It seems that there is not a single guy or man left who has not pumped at least one branch of the tanks of his favorite military unit.

General description

The WoT project was conceived as a multiplayer game, but the developers decided not to adhere to the standards of this genre. Here, players are invited to upgrade not characters but equipment, namely tanks, gradually improving them and moving from the first to the most modern models.

Each tank can be upgraded up to level 10 and eventually become a combat power capable of easily destroying any opponents. The game combines two genres: MMO and simulator. The first of them means that the game allows you to play with many users online, and its entire process is impossible without interaction between people.

The second genre means that the tank controls are realistically modulated to make players feel like real tankers. To this day, millions of gamers from all over the world continue to play tanks. The game is available on the traditional Windows operating system, as well as for users of macOS and Xbox consoles.

Gameplay

The point of the game World of Tanks is extremely simple: players choose tanks and develop them by participating in battles. Each victory brings them rewards that can be spent on improving engines, guns, crews, and much more. When players reach the maximum level, they can either just enjoy the game, destroying enemies in difficult battles, or start pumping a new branch since each of them is unique.

The game offers different types of vehicles, including heavy tanks, light tanks, and self-propelled guns. The resulting gaming experience directly depends on what the players use and can vary greatly. There are eight branches of vehicles available in the game, including vehicles from the Soviet Union, the United States, Nazi Germany, Japan, Britain, France, and China.

Each of them is interesting in its own way, which is why many players eventually pump several branches, and some all at once. Better not to ask how long it takes to upgrade each branch. Just start playing, and you will understand everything yourself. The game offers several game modes to choose from:

  1. Standard Battle. A simple battle between two teams of 15 players. In the mobile version of the game, teams consist of 7 players.
  2. Assault. A battle where one team is attacking, and the other is defending. The goal is to capture the enemy team’s base in 10 minutes.
  3. Encounter. In this battle, there is a neutral base on the map that must be captured. The team that first captures the base wins.
  4. Grand Battle. An interesting game mode that allows players to take part in an epic 30v30 tank battle. In such battles, larger maps are used.
  5. Frontline. It is another interesting mode, where 60 players who have reached level 8 need to complete various difficult combat tasks.

There are also rank and team battles, although the latter was removed from the gameplay in 2019 due to its unpopularity. World of Tanks regularly offers players various promotions and discounts for premium services, as well as holds interesting tournaments during the holidays. The game is still very popular among users and will appeal to everyone who likes to have fun on their computer!
